Deprived - Why do you even bother?
Dear readers,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
The title has most probably already got your attention. It's amazing how important titles are as it can many times determine whether a person will bother to read it or not.
I came across many definitions, most of which confuse a person more rather than explaining (well done Oxford). However, the most define definition in a tiny sentence which I think accurately covers the meaning that I found is "The absence, loss, or withholding of something needed."
How many times have you heard the question usually asked in disgust but sugar coated with a smile, "Won't your child feel deprived?"
This question is usually asked upon you saying that you keep your child away from certain things.
Let me now list the things I myself keep my children away from and how others have reacted.
The west are always boasting their freedom act. However, I can without a shadow of a doubt confirm that the west is the most opposite and contrary to freedom countries in the world. One is only free when if you their way and their way alone otherwise they have titles for FREE thinking people such as "oppression, extremism, radicalism" - Probably the most thrown around words in the news.
Back to the topic, I keep my child away from anything with music and TV
Not having an idiot box in my house, also known as a TV, it automatically helps in this. Try to play 1 minute of any channel without hearing music. It's almost too rare to even try. Music influences in many ways. Do I really need to prove this? I used to listen to music and cheerful music/songs also make you cheerful. Angry songs make you angry. Love songs make you feel all mushy. Now, if the love of music enters them at an early age, they grow up listening to song writers lyrics, ideas and thoughts. This then becomes their way of thinking so how has this achieved freedom?
The West: We have no right to keep a child away from Music and TV. It should be their choice. If you keep them away from it, they will grow up to rebel. If you keep them away from it, they will feel deprived.
If you feel, know or believe something to be harmful, you stop your child from it. If your child runs around the house with a sharp knife, will you say "it's his right to, it's his choice, we have no right to stop him"? The knife can hurt him so you will stop him, the music will hurt him so we stop him.
There was a time when swearing, bad language and sexual content was only on after 10pm. Now you can find it around the 24 hours. Even children's shows have half naked women and silly messages and jokes. What seems normal to you will be evil to another. Some people have decency and in argument of fair play or decency, decency gets first step.
In fact, if anything, me stopping my child from TV and music is more practical on the freedom act than you not stopping him. The freedom of choice is to let the child grow to make their own decisions. When you fill their innocent hearts and mind with filthy lyrics and lyrics to help them choose a path, or with TV where they teach you how to dress, act, behave, live (with soaps and dramas), that so many things are okay, you have already made them victims of your choice and to the choice of the writers.
Where is the freedom then? Why did you not let your child make their own decisions? Why did you make them victim to cooperate worlds? At an adults age we can see something on TV and know that it's just TV.
Try telling a child that you should wear decent neat clothes which cover your shame, which do not have evil and nasty pictures on them, which look good, which makes you look good, which makes you look smart, which makes you feel respected... they will look at you like you want them to wear a hedgehog's back.
But as a child, he sees a man in red underwear over blue tights and a red cape on his back and they'll want to wear that because it's Super.
So how can one say TV doesn't influence a child? Yes it does.
So therefore, before judging a Muslims way of life, ask yourself if you act according to your own worries and concerns or if your concerns are even justified with your reasons or are those reasons more to justify the Muslims way of life.
"Real western law is laid by true Islamic values. The practised western law strongly opposes Islamic values. The Islamic law is a more stable version of the western law. The western law changes according to time. The Islamic law is for mankind, the western law is for a democratic leadership. The Islamic law is fair and just. The western law is fair and just only when you have no opinion"
I have put the above in quotes to end with, "Do I really have my freedom to say and think that?"

Punishing Kids
Bismihi Ta'aalaa,
Something I came across today. It's been a while since I posted an entry here but this one really makes me laugh and feel annoyed at the same time.
Naturally, the result of good behaviour is a gift or prize. Similarly, the result of a bad behaviour is a punishment of some sort.
I learnt today that a boy I know due to bad behaviour was given punishment. You probably want to know what it was right? Was his play station privileges taken away? No. Was he grounded? No. Was he given a spanking? No.
His punishment was serious, it was brutal, it was inhuman, it was outrageous and tormenting. What was done??? ... He was sent to Darul Uloom to be tortured by the knowledge of Qur'aan and Hadeeth. He was sent in the presence of Ulamaa to be burnt from the light and noor.
Why is it that parents feel that if a son is clever, smart and has potential, they'll send him to school, college and uni? They'll work on him, spend on him and live through him? And if a son is trouble, has no hope and is weak then they 'dump' him in Darul Ulooms?
I will simply conclude with two typical parental quotes:
To a good child:
We love you son, you make us proud. We will spare no expense to make you a doctor or whatever you want to be (as long as it's not an Aalim right?)
To a naughty child:
If you don't improve, if you keep behaving like this, we will send you to a Darul Uloom
To a good child, the parents are saying:
We love you son, you have potential. We will make you something for us to be successful in society. We will not let the dirt of Islam spoil your worldly reputation. We will ignore that 'no Islam' means hell fire but it'll be worth it for the tea parties we get invited to at rich peoples houses.
To a naughty child, the parents are saying:
We have had enough of you, we can't waste our valuable time and effort on you. We are willing to pay some bearded people to look after you for 6 or 7 years and by then you'll probably grow up a little. You don't deserve this family (I probably agree with the last bit. He surely doesn't deserve that family.
What is sacrifice? Giving gold for the sake of Allah or giving your unwanted out of date clothes that don't fit?
To all those parents who sent their sons to Darul Uloom knowing they had potential and were truly loved, I can't imagine how much reward is waiting for you in Jannah for that sacrifice. May Allah reward you dearly as you deserve. Aameen
To all those parents who sent menaces to Darul Ulooms to corrupt others and cause mayhem just to take the load off yourselves, may Allah have mercy on you.

Pop culture in the name of Islam

I FEEL very uncomfortable about the pop culture which is growing around some so-called Nasheed artists. Of course I use the term ‘Nasheed artists’ very lightly. Islamic ‘boy bands’ and Muslim ‘popsters’ would probably be more appropriate.
Eminent scholars throughout history have often opined that music is haram, and I don’t recall reading anything about the Sahaba whooping it up to the sound of music. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for people letting off steam, but in a dignified manner and one which is appropriate to their surroundings.
The reason I am expressing concern is that just a few days ago at a venue in Central London, sisters went wild in the aisles as some form of pop-mania swept through the concert venue. And I’m not just talking about silly, little girls who don’t know any better; I am talking about sisters in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, who squealed, shouted, swayed and danced. Even the security guys who looked more like pipe cleaners than bulldozers were left looking dazed and confused as they tried to stop hijabi sisters from standing on their chairs. Of course the stage groupies did not help at all as they waved and encouraged the largely female Muslim crowd to “get up and sing along.” (They’re called ‘Fluffers’ in lap-dancing circles!)
The source of all this adulation was British-born Sami Yusuf, who is so proud of his claret-colored passport that he wants us all to wave the Union Jacks. I’m amazed he didn’t encourage his fans to sing “Land of Hope and Glory.” Brother Sami asked his audience to cheer if they were proud to be British ,and when they responded loudly, he said he couldn’t hear them and asked them to cheer again.
How can anyone be proud to be British? Britain is the third most hated country in the world. The Union Jack is drenched in the blood of our brothers and sisters across Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine. Our history is steeped in the blood of colonialism, rooted in slavery, brutality, torture, and oppression. And we haven’t had a decent game of soccer since we lifted the World Cup in 1966.
Apparently Sami also said one of the selling points of Brand UK was having Muslims in the Metropolitan Police Force! Astafur’Allah! Dude, these are the same cops who have a shoot-to-kill policy and would have gunned down a Muslim last year if they could tell the difference between a Bangladeshi and a Brazilian. This is the same police force that has raided more than 3000 Muslim homes in Britain since 9/11. What sort of life is there on Planet Sami, I wonder? If he is so proud to be British, why is he living in the great Middle Eastern democracy of Egypt?
Apparently the sort of hysteria Sami helped encourage is also in America, and if it is happening on both sides of the Atlantic, then it must be creeping around the globe and poisoning the masses. Islamic boy bands like 786 and Mecca 2 Medina are also the subject of the sort of female adulation you expect to see on American Pop Idol or the X-Factor. Surely Islamic events should be promoting restrained and more sedate behavior.
Do we blame the out-of-control sisters? Or do we blame the organizers for allowing this sort of excessive behavior which demeans Islam? Or do we blame the artists themselves?
Abu Ali and Abu Abdul Malik, struggling for their Deen, would certainly not try to whip up this sort of hysteria. Neither would the anonymous heroic Nasheed artists who sing for freedom; check out Idhrib Ya Asad Fallujah, and you will know exactly what I mean.
Fallujah is now synonymous with the sort of heroic resistance that elevated the Palestinians of Jenin to the ranks of the resistance written about in the Paris Communeand the Siege of Leningrad. The US military has banned the playing of any Nasheeds about Fallujah because of the power and the passion it evokes.
If those Nasheeds had sisters running in the streets whooping and dancing, however, the Nasheeds may be encouraged [Note from Siraaj: She probably meant discouraged, not encouraged] because of haram activity surrounding them.
Quite frankly, I really don’t know how anyone in the Ummah can really let go and scream and shout with joy at pleasure domes when there is so much brutality and suffering going on in the world today. The rivers of blood flow freely from the veins of our brothers and sisters from across the Muslim world. Screaming and shouting the names of musical heroes drown out the screams coming from the dungeons of Uzbekistan where brothers and sisters are boiled alive in vats of water. How many will jump up and down and wave their arms in the air, shouting wildly for justice for our kin in Kashmir, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Palestine, and Iraq? There are many more killing fields as well across the Asian and Arab world. Will you climb on theater chairs and express your rage over Guantanamo Bay and other gulags where our brothers and sisters are being tortured, raped, sodomized, beaten, and burned? Or will you just switch off this concerned sister and switch on to the likes of Sami Yusuf because he can sell you a pipe dream with his soothing words and melodic voice?
Oh, Muslims, wake up! The Ummah is not bleeding; it is hemorrhaging.
Listen not to what is haram. Listen to the pain of your global family.

1. FREE WORK OR DISCOUNTS:
MUSLIM professionals can be naïve. So let's just forget that they are trained professionals and have spent many years to achieve their skills. We'll just use them for free, all you need is the magic password, "FEE-SABEELILLAH" – Then they have no value and they must do the thing.
From experience, many organizations get this done. Yet they PAY non-Muslims because they can't use this password on them.

If you own a business or anything which has competition, yes even ISLAMIC websites, simply find ALL the negative points ignoring all the good things and tell ONE Muslim. Yes only ONE MUSLIM. No need to try so hard and tell many. Sooner or later, you will hear the same stuff you started from another person with the most reliable starting method possible, "I heard that……" followed by what you made up.
Hence, you have weakened the opposition making your business or ISLAMIC SITE better or more reliable.
3. MOBILE NETWORKS
If you own a mobile network, you can send all your Muslim customers a text with a Du'aa or a Qur'aan verse followed by something in lines of "Forward this to 10 people and something amazing will happen tonight"
If you earn 5p per text, within a week this will circulate everywhere and before you know it, your bank manager will have a huge smile on his face.
4. FREE ADVERTISING ONLINE
The easiest one of the lot. Type an email with your website on it in the following way:

ANTI-MUSLIMS AND HATE ISLAM… REMEMBER,
DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING ON THIS WEBSITE.. PASS IT
ON AND LET ALL THE Muslims KNOW

And viola, millions of people will know about your website within minutes.
5. MORE FREE PROMOTIONS OR ADVERTISING
If you want people to participate in polls, votes or simply visit your site for hits, simply send an email in the following manner to a MUSLIM..
First mention what you want them to do.
Second, make up a sob story why they should do it.
And third, most importantly, MAKE SURE YOU MENTION that a Shaykh in Madinah saw a dream that Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam advised that Shaykh to tell everyone to do that.
Don't worry, Muslims WILL believe it and circulate the email and do the thing mentioned in there without any questions.

East turns West - West stays
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
In an age where appearance reflects the character beyond reality, Muslims have sunk deep into materialistic values and ethics. Listed below will be weaknesses, anti-Shar'ee preferences and in simple words, the weak state of Muslims.
1) Changing to suit their needs
Firstly, the KUFFAR do NOT need us to change to be accepted. It makes me laugh at the stupidity of Muslims who throw away their scarves, trash the Niqaab, shave the beards and get ghetto disgusting hair cuts to "fit in".
Here are some quotes:
"If we're gonna live here, we have to fit in"
Really?
Does a christian grow his beard and wear an Imaamah (turban) when they visit a Muslim country?
Let alone christians, does a monkey start eating dears because they're around lions? Does a cat start barking because it's living with dogs?
Yet, Muslims start acting, behaving, dressing and speaking like Kuffar because they live in the west. Very subtle indeed.
"We can't success in society if we live in the past. The world has changed"
Funny how the world has changed yet the Qur'aan hasn't (note I said 'funny' and not a miracle). Funny how people (Muslims) change yet their Lord, the creator of the universe is still the One and only, uninfluenced and guides the world with the same set of rules.
Does the sun let out less heat in the west because they can't handle it? Does rain and strong weather change course because it interferes with modern technology? Yet, a Muslim has to give up his living rights, yes living rights just to succeed in society.
Besides the fact that the true Muslims spread Islam to far corners where Islam was hated. Inhumane individuals accepted the true path and changed and succeeded yet in 'modern times' we cannot succeed with a beard? If a rule book was written on how to succeed in western society, I would love to see where "No scarf, no Niqaab and no beard" would come.
Did Nabi (s) not succeed in life? Did the Sahaabah Kiraam not get rich without the love of this world? Are Muslims not wealthy anymore? You yourself know it's not true but fail to see it due to the blinding glamour the west has sprinkled on the Muslims via the TV, advertising and naked roaming in the streets.
2) Participating in Western celebrations
When was the last time Eid was celebrated by Kuffar? Why have employees never been given shorter hours or late hours because they’re fasting? Nothing changes for a Muslim. Yet, Muslims give Christmas cards which represents Shirk (the only sin that cannot be forgiven), Muslims celebrate new year, 5th November and worst of all, Muslims celebrate birthdays. I mean seriously, a party on a day that you were born? Since when did Muslims start this? Since when was it an accomplishment of the baby to be born to celebrate it in their honour? Should Allah not be praised on the day? Should charity not be given to those children who are deprived of families? Or should one stuff their stomachs with cake and snacks till they bloat up like an air balloon?
The state of Muslims are so weak that they use ISLAM to celebrate Kuffar man-made days of (in)significance. They say maybe the Kuffar will be affected and be drawn towards Islam? Get real people, how in the heavens does becoming them bring them towards becoming us? That’s like eating pork hoping Kuffar start eating Halaal meat.
3) Wasting yourself
This is the most troubling of the lot. A lot of people find it hard to comprehend let alone speak out. OUR Muslim sisters, who go to Darul Uloom Ulooms, become so called “Aalimahs” – female scholars – come out worse than they went it. From recent studies by Allah fearing Aalimahs who are concerned, discovered that only 1 in 30 graduates of Girls Islamic Schools (boarding) turn out to be a Muslim.
Some have met guys on the internet and ran off. Yes RAN away from home with them. Do not fear the hereafter? What did they do in the Islamic institutes? Were they forced? Tortured? Beaten? If anything, they had too much freedom there. Any graduate would confirm that.
Some have started college or university, Niqaabs off, Jilbaab off, Hijaab off, modesty off, respect off, shamefulness buried, hair out, make up on, figure displayed and walk those grounds half naked to become whatever they’re trying to become.
Some start to teach at Madrasah, yet half the time goes on the mobile phone to guys they met on the INTERNET (amazing). Do they not fear anything at all?
In other words, they have wasted their life away which was supposed to be in the lines of piety, prosperity, guidance, role model, acceptance and the revival of Deen which is being slaughtered by Kuffar and Muslims. All this just because they’re living in the west where Islam has no space amongst Muslims
